Jefferson County Dems are hosting a second deep canvassing workshop on Feb. 10. There was a great turnout for the workshop held in January. If there is sufficient interest we will do these workshops every month. Here is the signup link: February Deep Canvassing Workshop
The training is on Zoom, on Thursday evening, Feb 10, from 6 to 8pm. A phone bank practice session will follow on Saturday morning, Feb 12, for a couple of hours.
The goal is to create comfort with the technique, so the setup provides lots of support for attendees. We'll use DPW's virtual phone bank methodology for the calls, and rely on an open Zoom forum for practice and mutual support of Saturday morning.
Deep canvassing is a way for engaging voters that is more satisfying, impactful and memorable for the voter (and us!). It's a way of communicating on a human emotional level. It's a way to talk about difficult things and is most useful when talking to the person on the margin--like the person who favors democrats usually but doesn't take the time to vote in an off year election. It's not for every voter contact, but it is another great tool in the toolkit.
